Eco-account
In the context of spatial planning projects including compensation measures the eco-account regulation in Schleswig-Holstein provides an opportunity to set up so-called eco-accounts, mainly on agricultural land. BioConsult SH assists clients in the application for an eco-account or in the provision of an adapted concept. Especially for larger projects, a cooperation of nature conservation authorities, water authorities, planning agencies and further stakeholders is recommended, in order to reach the best solution for the landscape, nature and biodiversity as well as for the applicant.
The process involves the following steps: on-site inspection, inventory of flora and fauna, development of ecological targets for the respective areas, accounting for possible eco-points. Subsequently, an in-depth discussion or a reconcilement with the client takes place, followed by the submission of the application to the regional nature conservation authority in the county. Measures for eco-accounts in Schleswig-Holstein often include extensive agricultural management, adapted water management and site-specific measures to create / manage particular biotopes.
