Book on 600 small creatures in our gardens winner of the German Garden Book Award

Husum,

We are proud to announce that our colleague Dr Armin Rose has been awarded the German Garden Book Prize 2024 for his non-fiction book on 600 different insect, spider and other creepy-crawly species in the garden.

As a passionate entomologist and photographer, Armin Rose presents the often-overlooked garden inhabitants in numerous macro shots. In speech bubbles, the animals talk about themselves and sometimes cheekily comment on their lives.

The book, published in July 2023, has now been honoured with the German Garden Book Award. The jury awarded the book 1st place in the category “Best Book: Animals in the Garden”.

The book was originally written for Armin's children during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are delighted that it has found its way into the public and congratulate Armin on his well-deserved success.

Schloss Dennenlohe has been honouring the best German and European garden books with the German Garden Book Award since 2006. BioConsult SH has supported the publication. The book was published by KJM Buchverlag, Hamburg.
