Our Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Policy

BioConsult SH is a team of natural scientists and was founded in 1998 as an independent ecological research and consulting firm. We compile expert environmental reports, principle protection concepts and feasibility studies on the basis of sound research with the aim to help resolve conflicts between man and nature.

With our quality, health, safety and environmental policy, we want to continuously maintain and improve the quality of our work, ensure the health and safety of our employees, design our work in an environmentally friendly and resource-saving way and increase our employees' awareness of these aspects.

Quality management

A firmly implemented quality management system (ISO 9001) is in place to comply with our own quality requirements and those of our clients as well as to continuously improve the quality of our processes, our work and thus our services. We regularly conduct management reviews to assess the suitability, appropriateness and effectiveness of the quality management system (QM system) as well as the quality of the associated health and safety management system.

We are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2015.

Health and safety at work

The safety and health of employees is an important concern to us. BioConsult SH is committed to preventing injuries and work-related illnesses and to the continuous improvement process (CIP) of the measures taken for this purpose. Workplaces and work processes are designed in such a way that the health of employees is maintained, physical and mental stress is reduced and accidents are avoided. The work situation and the strain on the employees are continuously monitored by the management and the work group leaders and discussed with the employees. Employees are invited to actively contribute to safety and health at work. In order to identify problems at an early stage while maintaining anonymity and lowering inhibition thresholds, employees elect confidants who act as a link between employees and management/project group leaders. BioConsult SH has a successful incident management system, motivates and encourages its employees to openly report incidents and accidents in order to analyse them and to identify and determine the need for further preventive measures at an early stage. Our employees receive the appropriate education, training and examinations at all times to ensure healthy and safe work. We also encourage and motivate our staff to attend regular training and development courses to increase their satisfaction and to develop our expertise. We are committed to complying with health and safety legislation at all times as well as implementing other employee well-being measures. Several health-promoting measures and services are implemented to maintain and improve our employees' well-being. To achieve our SGA goals and improve our SGA performance in cooperation with all employees, we have implemented an occupational health and safety management system (ISO 45001).

We are certified according to DIN EN ISO 45001 : 2018.

Environment and sustainability

BioConsult SH pursues a way of working that is as environmentally friendly and resource-saving as possible. In connection with our projects, activities and services, we reduce the generation of waste and avoid environmental pollution. Within our office locations, we have a sustainability officer who is actively engaged in this at our sites.

We support ecological and responsible action and promote the use and development of environmentally friendly technologies.

Responsibility and competence

The managing directors of BioConsult SH are responsible for the general implementation, exemplification and continuous compliance with our QHSE policy at all levels. The management representatives for quality assurance and occupational health and safety are responsible for ensuring that the two management systems function.
