Marine research projects

We plan and implement research and development projects – often in cooperation with universities, partners from industry or environmental organisation and with the support of authorities and ministries.

Application-related environmental research in the offshore sector

Our research projects are primarily application-related to for example develop solutions for an environmentally friendly further development of renewable energies and infrastructure projects at sea. We also carry out basic research projects.

Our projects cover a wide range of methods. They include concept development and desktop studies as well as projects with a high proportion of field work.

Examples of previous projects include

the development of a radar network for the automatic recording of bird migration over the German Bight,
a desktop study on the population development of divers in the German Bight or
the tracking of divers and cranes to investigate migration routes and staging areas in relation to wind farms.

We are happy to analyse scientific issues and methods together with our clients in order to address specific aspects in connection with the potential impact of anthropogenic interventions.
